Why:
The Safari to Success Gala is the annual signature fundraising event for The Entrepreneurial Institute and it serves as a forum to showcase the astounding accomplishments of small businesses that have been assisted by the Institute. The evening presents an opportunity for our partners and supporters to witness the superb returns on their investments of time, expertise, funding and advocacy.
Founded in 1989, MetroBroward Economic Development Corporation, the anchor partner for the Entrepreneurial Institute, is a nationally certified Community Development Financial Institution (the only one in Broward County) - which allows it to make direct loans to small emerging businesses that are not yet able to acquire capital from a conventional bank. In 2004, MetroBroward partnered with Broward Community College and the South Florida Regional Planning Council to form the Entrepreneurial Institute. Broward Community College integrated the Entrepreneurial Education segment of its Continuing Education Department into the Institute in order to offer Entrepreneurial Certificate Courses at MetroBroward. The South Florida Regional Planning Council integrated its Small Business Lending Expertise and Small Business Planning Activities into the Institute to enhance and supplement the revolving loan fund at MetroBroward and to assist with advocacy issues for small businesses.
